Things No One Tells You About Bariatric Surgery/Losing Weight

A lot of information is out there to inform you about your body and the science behind Bariatric surgery, but what about all of the things you'll never know until you know? Well, here's my list:

1. People have THE MOST to say. I've said this before, and often, but people will have SO much to say. You must thicken your skin, because even people that are well-meaning can say some pretty jacked up stuff to you, and they don't mean to rub you the wrong way, but it can be irritating.

2. Thrift Stores will become your favorite places! (Or they should be!) I am obsessed with Goodwill, Savers, etc.

3. There's no way to know what size you'll ultimately be.

Everyone has plateaus, peaks, and valleys, but that "normal" will be unique to you. When my sister had the surgery, I don't think that she ever got down to the size 6 that I did. I never got to the size 4 that my friend did. Then, after several years, you'll start to gain again until you finally level out.
