SECURE THE BAG

Life can change in a day.

That is what I tell myself when things get upsetting or overwhelming. It is also what I say to clients and friends, (when they ask me for my advice or opinion,) because it's true. It can come off as a platitude when your outlook is bleak and cannot see the forest through the trees. However, the fact remains that it is true.

My lived experience has shown me that, in one day, you can hear from the job you applied for, yet forgot about, just when your financial situations seems dire. You can meet someone that changes your life just by walking around the corner. You can be gifted the words of encouragement from a stranger, just when the people closest to you seem to forsake you. Things change...but you have to be here for it.

So, today, as I kept the faith over the past month that I could see changes being manifested in my life, I held firm and landed the job of my lifetime. It pays more than I have ever made, it is squarely concentrated in my field, and it has advancement potential...it is all I have ever asked for and it came today. Despite the fact that there is a mandatory training and attendance requirement, I disclosed that I was due in November and was rewarded for my honesty and integrity such that, with 100+ applicants left to interview, my :30 interview got me the job I had prayed over and cried for. I feel confident that I will be able to go further now than I ever could have in my current position. It gives me hope for, not only my future, but the future of my daughter, and it makes me KNOW that she is my single greatest motivator. Mir and I are going to be just fine.

I was even able to find someone to offer me $1400 for my old and broken down Buick and I couldn't be more pleased about that. I didn't expect much from that car unless someone was willing to invest in fixing it. Luckily, I'm selling it to a man who repairs his own cars. I mean, this is the best thing for me because I can turn around and make a payment that meets the schedule due amount plus principal which then reduces my interest paid over the term of the loan.

And if all that weren't enough, my business is booming at the moment with new customizations. I simply couldn't be happier about how things are looking for Mir and I. I am paying this forward in many ways by blessing the people that I am closest to, and maybe, a random stranger along the way because I feel that's what God has done for me. If this virus business would ever end, I would start attending church regularly again because I definitely feel a stretch towards growth right now and I would like to grow in that direction...UPWARDS.
