MILESTONE (I Care About You)

I have hit a very serious milestone two days after my 14-month surgiversary. I have broken through the 160 barrier. In the history of my weight loss attempts, I have reached an all-time low! I haven't weighed 158 since I was in junior high school.

According to BMI charts, I am still "overweight," which is neither here nor there to me. I know what they don't know, that I was once "super morbidly obese," with a BMI of 43.

Currently:

Height: 5 feet, 6 inches

Weight: 158 pounds

Your BMI is 25.5, indicating your weight is in the Overweight category for adults of your height. For your height, a normal weight range would be from 115 to 154 pounds.

People who are overweight or obese are at higher risk for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol.

As a Black woman, I take the BMI chart with a grain of salt because I am very curvy and voluptuous. I have wide hips and a true hourglass figure, (my hip measurement throws it off only slightly.) So, though the BMI chart suggests that I still have 4 more pounds to go... I'm good!
